Today I spent an hour or so explaining Internet PPC, Lead Capture and Lead Conversion with Barry on The Real Estate Radio USA Show. It was a very informative hour discussing many aspects of how to capture and convert leads.

During the show we started getting off track a little and started discussing Realtors and Brokers. It brought up some very important points that I have discussed before, but I think are worthy of discussing again.

Most Realtors become Realtors because they are either looking for a job change or really aren't sure what they would like to do. In most cases, Realtors do not have a business background.

Most Brokers are Realtors who happened to do a great job at selling homes and decide to open a Brokerage. With that said, most Brokers have very little if any business experience.

Let's face it, getting a Realtor or Brokers license in this business is not too difficult. I think that anyone with a small fraction of ability to take a class and pass a test can accomplish the licensing requirements. So it offers up the questions, how do both Brokers and Agents really succeed in this business when they don't understand anything about business.

Most of the Agents and Brokers I talk to have never run a business before and have never managed or trained people in the past. How do they expect to become successful at either with no experience and no training. Most Agencies offer little or no real training. It's not anyones fault, but I think it's something that one should recognize and be determined to educate themselves to the best of their ability.

In the end, there are tons of course both online and offline that can help Agents and Brokers become better. Sometimes most people just get caught up in being the "technician" as Michale Gerber calls them in the book eMyth. If you are going to be in business, this is a MUST read. If you are always running around with your head cut off, how do you expect to become better and more skilled in the areas you are not skilled? The answer is not difficult, but it does require the time and investment both emotionally and financially to become better.

I talked with a Broker tonight who is one of the Brokers I just discussed. He is a great guy but is struggling in his business. He has no plan of action and no idea how to really bring his Agents to the next level. He decided to join The eHomes Realty Network and we will work together over the next few weeks to get him and his Agents over the hump. I don't profess to know all the answers, but I'm sure I can help him get on track and systemize his business. After all, if you don't have systems, it's pretty tough to run your business in a smooth predictable manner.

If you are one of the Agents or Brokers I have discussed above, you owe it to yourself to have talk with me to see if I can help. The reason I started this company was to help as many Agents and Brokers as possible. Your success drives my success. I get the most sense of gratification when I see another Agent or Broker have that moment of "aha". If you need that, I am here for you. Let's talk!
